Gunther Schnabl
Gunther Schnabl (*1966) is a German economist, Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Leipzig and Director of the Institute for Economic Policy. He has been Director of the Flossbach von Storch Research Institute in Cologne since 2024. He researches international monetary policy, expansionary monetary policy, financial market bubbles and the role of central banks. Schnabl writes regular columns, including for the FAZ and NZZ, and is one of the most influential economists in Germany according to the NZZ ranking.
