Gerd Gigerenzer
Gerd Gigerenzer (*1947) is a German psychologist and Director Emeritus at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. He has headed the Harding Center for Risk Literacy at the University of Potsdam since 2020 and has been Vice-President of the European Research Council (ERC) since 2024. His research focuses on heuristics, risk literacy and bounded rationality. Gigerenzer has been awarded the AAAS Prize and the Communicator Prize, among others.
