Christopher A. Preble is an American foreign and security policy expert and former Vice President for Defense & Foreign Policy Studies at the Cato Institute. He previously served as an officer in the US Navy and now teaches US foreign policy at the University of California. He is co-host of the podcast Net Assessment (War on the Rocks) and author of “The Power Problem”, “Peace, War, and Liberty” (2009) and “Fuel to the Fire” (2019, with co-authors).
