Charles Goodhart
Charles Goodhart (*1936) is a British economist and Norman Sosnow Professor Emeritus at the London School of Economics. He was an independent member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England (1997-2000) and is known for Goodhart’s Law: “When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a measure”. In 2021, he was honored with the Central Banking Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on monetary policy.
