Arnulf Baring
Arnulf Baring (*1932-†2019) was a German lawyer, historian and journalist, professor at the Free University of Berlin and visiting researcher at Harvard. He warned early on about the construction errors of the eurozone and became known to a wide audience through his book “Scheitert Deutschland?” (1997) made him known to a wide audience. Baring played a key role in shaping the debate on contemporary German history and was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
